TVET, Skilled Trades, Agriculture and Emerging Routes

OTHERADVANCED

This pathway is for students entering formal technical training, starting an apprenticeship, or moving from learner to paid worker in a trade or agricultural route.

The administration matters here as much as in any university route: registration, logged hours, examinations and certification are what turn practical skill into a qualification that travels.

It also covers the part that decides who does well in the trades over ten years, which is usually the business side: quoting, records, customers and reputation, rather than the hand skill alone.

Learning Outcomes

  • Complete registration or enrolment correctly and know what your certification requires.
  • Assemble a work record with photographs, logged hours and a supervisor who will vouch for you.
  • Plan for tool, examination and certification costs over the whole training period.
  • Describe qualification, first jobs and progression in your trade in Ghana and in Canada.
  • Explain the basics of quoting, records and reputation for self-employed trade work.
