Applications here reward documented, supervised experience and evidence that you understand boundaries. Programmes are wary of applicants who describe rescuing people.
The pathway also covers the first years honestly, including caseloads, the emotional load, and the reason supervision and boundaries are treated as professional requirements rather than personal preferences.
Learning Outcomes
- Track deadlines alongside record checks and placement requirements that take weeks.
- Write an application about supervised work you actually did, including its limits.
- Plan funding and identify placement periods that may be unpaid.
- Describe registration, first roles, caseloads and supervision in Ghana and in Canada.
- Recognise burnout risk and name the professional structures that exist to reduce it.
