BUSINESSBEGINNER
This pathway is for students interested in accounting, banking, marketing, sales, human resources, operations, procurement and running their own thing. Most of these jobs exist inside other people's organisations, not in a start-up.
The common skill is being trusted with money and with information. That means arithmetic you can do without panicking, records that are actually kept, and writing that other people can follow.
By the end you will know the real job titles, what your subjects lead to, and you will have run one small money exercise with every figure written down.
Learning Outcomes
- Name at least six business roles and say what each one is responsible for.
- Explain the difference between running a business and being employed in one.
- Identify which Ghanaian SHS electives and which Canadian Grade 12 courses the numbers-heavy routes require.
- Run one small trading, service or budgeting exercise and record every amount in and out.
- Recognise money scams aimed at young people and know what never to share.
