About this opportunity
The former Scholarships Secretariat became the Ghana Scholarships Authority under the Ghana Scholarships Authority Act, 2025 (Act 1149). It runs four routes: National Merit, Local Tertiary, Foreign Tertiary (bilateral calls such as Serbia, Mauritius, Australia Awards and PWASI) and District Access.
The 2026/2027 Local Tertiary call (10 April-15 May 2026) required applicants to be 'a Ghanaian and Resident in Ghana', to have gained admission to and registered with a local tertiary institution, to be 'offering STEM related courses and Law' and to 'be in the Public Universities'. Selection has three phases: online registration with transcripts, admission letter and certificates; an aptitude test; and an interview at a designated MMDA. Local awards cover tuition and approved academic costs.
