- Not be a current or recent (within two years) employee, or immediate relative of an employee, of HM Government, the British Council or a partner UK university
- Commit to return home for at least two years after the award
About this opportunity
Chevening is the UK government's international scholarship programme, funded by the FCDO and partners. It offers fully funded one-year Master's degrees at any UK university to future leaders and decision-makers, who return home for at least two years afterwards. Ghana is a Chevening-eligible country.
Applicants need an undergraduate degree completed at least two years before the deadline, at least two years (2,800 hours) of post-degree work experience (employment, voluntary work or internships count), applications to three eligible UK Master's courses and an unconditional offer from one by 8 July 2027. No upper age limit. British/dual-British citizens, UK residents, recent HMG/British Council/partner-university staff and close relatives, and past UK-government-funded scholars are ineligible. Interviews March-April 2027; results from mid-June 2027.

Online application with four essay-style responses (leadership and influence, networking, why these UK courses, career plan). Provide the names/contact details of two referees at application; two reference letters in English are uploaded only if invited to interview (at least seven working days before the interview). Official undergraduate degree certificate (transcripts not accepted) and passport/ID are uploaded at the same stage. Three UK course choices must be listed; an unconditional offer is required by 8 July 2027.
