About this opportunity
CAMFED has worked in Ghana since 1998 (starting in the Northern Region) and by 2025 operated in 46 districts and 1,402 government schools, supporting over 170,000 students through secondary school and 130,000+ at primary level. Secondary support is holistic: 'school or exam fees, uniforms, menstrual supplies, books, pens, bikes, boarding fees or disability aids', plus guidance from trained teacher mentors and Learner Guides, and entry to the CAMA alumnae network.
There is no public application: 'A student who receives secondary school support from CAMFED is chosen directly by committees made up of community members, partner school and education authorities', who make home visits to verify need. Girls from poor, mostly rural households at risk of dropping out in a partner district should ask their head teacher or district education office.
